It was a 4-star hotel in every way. Efficient check-in was a bonus. We spent our evenings in nearby doran's at the beachcomber enjoying drinks and atmosphere...
There's bad smell in some areas.

Overall, it's cosy base for exploring Dublin attractions. Room cost is € 173. There is a magnificent restaurant. We would be happy to recommend the place😃
Cannot find any fault.

It's a beautiful hotel integrating the old features of the castle with a modern hotel. The social spaces are very well designed and used, yet when there are weddings or big social events sadly the castle is too small. The food is very good and the breakfast is fantastic, a very good variety of choices. The rooms are well decorated, the lights though somewhat too dim and difficult for reading, the beds comfortable and the bathrooms with very good showers.

Lovely, comfortable room. As I am handicapped want to say accommodations for me are very good. Best part however was dealing with Eric who absolutely bent over backwards to assist us. We can't thank him enough.
Only complaint is handicapped windows overlook area where waitstaff leave work & was bit noisy then. Otherwise perfect.

The hotel is beautiful. They did a great job of mixing the castle with a modern building. Staff was great, Dubliners in genreral are the nicest people you will meet in any city in the world. Price was great compared to what a room in the middle of town will cost.
Location, you are only a few miles from town but even with a car it will take you 15-20 minutes. The public transportation is great but after a night in the city I did not want to spend another 30 minutes+ getting back to the room. Breakfast is very expensive and you have to pay for the full breakfast even if you just want toast and coffee. I was over charged by over 200 EUR for my room when I checked out. I was able to get this straightened out after about 15 minutes, I was just glad that I kept the booking confirmation or I would have been stuck paying a lot more for the room. I had noticed when I checked in that another guest was having the same issue so maybe this standard practice?

Rooms were spacious and were very clean with updated amenities. Staff was helpful and wifi was free. Location was a bit outside city, but a bus stop was a short 5-7 minute walk away.
Hotel during our stay the hotel was booked with evening events which caused parking issues if you arrived later in the evening. Friends of ours who were had a room on the second floor complained that the noise from the parties (Fri & Sat nights) could be heard in their room, and it did not cease until 12:30 am. We were located on the third floor but were not bothered by the noise.

It looks like a castle, and the artifacts and layout in the lobby make you feel like it is a castle.
When checked in, there was no offer to assist with bags. We arrived later than planned (at 10:30) and were told that room service ended at 10 pm and there were no open food facilities on-site. The hotel is not located near anything. We chose this because it was close to the airport, which it was not as close as was implied, yet it is possible that I mis-read... Where the rooms are does not feel like a castle... more like a Holiday Inn.

The castle ambience. the quiet, comfortable rooms, and the restaurant. This stay was our second, and we would return again.
The hotel was NOT linked into any airport shuttle. The public buses needed to go into Dublin city and out again were most inconvenient, especially with luggage . The hotel seems to rely on expensive taxi trips. Travellers should be warned about this extra expense! I would recommend this hotel with this CAVEAT.
